In my NYC office today I had a patient ask me “Why when I get tired does the same place on my body begin to hurt before anything else?”
The answer lies in the fact that when you get tired and fatigue enters the body the chemistry of the fatigue is in the musculature. So the muscles get tired and start to weaken their resting tension. That in turn allows for more improper movement in the joints that are stabilized by the muscles that are tired. When the joints can move in an abnormal way, then you get pain and inflammation in those joints. If you have an injury process going on already then you are much more likely to experience this phenomena.
If you live in NYC and you need to battle this, be sure to get enough rest. Don’t over do it, know your limitations. Eat right even when you’re out of the house and all of these will help protect you from fatigue related pain.
